Wieliczka – a town located in the central part of the Małopolskie Province. It borders with the city of Cracow and lies within the agglomeration of Cracow. The town is famous mainly thanks to the salt mine “Wieliczka”. It is one of the oldest industrial plants in the world. It is located on nine levels in which there are about 3000 chambers, of which more than 20 are available to tourists. Tour route is 3.5 km, the depth is from 64m to 135m. On the trail, you will see the Chapel of St. Kinga. On the way, we will hear an interesting story of Wieliczka and we will see mining equipment and machinery.
In order to make our trip a success, we must remember to wear a comfortable outfit. First of all, you need to buy longer clothing and sports shoes, because while exploring the mine, the temperature of the underground is between 14 and 16C.
The air in the salt mine in Wieliczka is extremely clean, and breathing it is pure pleasure. At 135 meters there is a health resort, where people with respiratory problems appear.
