HISTORIC SILVER MINE

If we were bored with outdoor trips and holiday under a palm tree, it is not for us, it is worth to look at the historic Silver Mine – antique silver mine in Tarnowskie Góry.

It is the only underground tourist route in Poland that allows visitors to explore the undergrounds of the former silver-ore mines. The mine was founded in Triassic dolomites and limestones.

This magnificent historic Silver Mine is one of the four Star of the Silesian Museum of Science History – since 2014 the mine has joined the European Industrial Heritage Trail.

A visit to the silver mine takes place in the underground corridors. These are located 40m below the ground. Traveling at the bottom of the mine usually takes place in guided groups, which last about 90 minutes. Due to the fact that the mine is really cold, we recommend warm covers and sports shoes or flat heels. Estimated time to visit the mine itself and beautifully located areas along with the Museum and the Open Air Museum of the Wheels, about one day.

It is also possible to book a guide in a foreign language such as German, Russian, English or French – if our trip would be with a friend from abroad.
